inI hadn’t done a session for a while, so I was excited for Kelsey’s . She didn’t disappoint. she slept and co-operated well, allowing me to try out some hats and things I had made especially for her. They came back again in the evening for the sibling/ family part of the session. She is much loved by her older sisters.

Monday was a gorgeous springlike day with beautiful sun. Portrait time, I decided. I just wasn’t getting around to taking Tommy’s 6 year pictures ( his birthday was in Dec.) and with Caleb’s 9th coming next month, I decided to do them together. With the help of a dollar bribe… they co-operated very well.
And one I took earlier: I love the early morning light; plus as an added bonus, a dusting of snow.

into close Photography by Glenda. Yup, you read right. I’ve been toying with the idea for a long time. Praying about it, sifting through different strategies of how to balance life as a wife, mother, dairy farmer, and a photographer. Truth is : I can’t, somethings got to go. I’m gonna miss seeing chubby, drooling, babies, wiggly toddlers and children that love my Mr. Chicken and lame jokes. But I’m not gonna miss trying to keep up a much too fast pace, of book keeping, editing deadlines, etc..
That all said: I will keep photographing newborns. I’m still gonna limit the amount. So call early, like , months before your due date, because it’s first come, first serve.
This will take affect starting in the new year. However, I will still honor those sessions already booked. This closing , well, partial closing anyway,of my business is most likely not permanent. Perhaps some day when my children are in school, I’ll open again. Thanks for being understanding.

inLast week we spent a lovely day at Belmar Beach. The sun was shining and the water was still warm enough to swim.
Before heading home, I wanted a few pictures to update my sitting room walls. The sun had almost set and a chilly wind kicked up. The children were tired and getting cranky.
This is for all you Moms who are amazed at how well well your children co-operate for me during their sessions. I’m telling you, children usually do better for strangers.
Caleb was either looking at the water or at the dog running along the beach. Oh, he’d smile, but his eyes were always elsewhere.
This is the one going in the frame. I like it, now that I gave up the idea of them perfectly posed and smiling.
Oww! Emmas biting my hand! Soon after this a wave rolled in , soaking their legs. Then they were too cold to pose.
I already had shot the other 2s individual shots and just needed Tommys. Looking back now I feel bad for my frozen , unhappy child. But frustrated would better describe my emotion then.
But hey we got a few pictures that I love, so alls well.

Miss Reagan was born 3 weeks early. She came to see me when she was 2 weeks old. She sleeps all the time Mom said. I think she jinxed it because, Raegan decided to be AWAKE! We did family pictures and sibling shots. Then she was supposed to sleep. Dad and Gavin went shopping to beat the boredom. She did eventually( a few hours later) fall asleep.
Gavin trying mightily to hold that little hand down:)
It was a great evening. I loved every hour (5:30- 9:30) of it.
